1 Thessalonians 5:18. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
I must admit it is hard for me to be thankful in all things. We can be thankful for many things, many times, but during all circumstances? Even during this time of Covid 19 when life as we knew it has changed.
What about the times in our lives when we are ill or experienced a huge loss? What about when our prayers have gone unanswered...what about when you're discouraged, struggling, losing faith...or when you are overwhelmed. There are many life events that bring us to our knees. How can you be thankful for all the awful things that life can bring us?
God isn’t saying give thanks for life’s hardships but when they happen look up from your knees to God in prayer. Rely on him to give you strength and perseverance. When we are on our knees we realize it’s not up to us to do it alone. When we go through difficult times we are reminded that true joy and thankfulness come from understanding that God has always been there holding our lives in his loving hands. Depend on him to be with you always. Find the blessings each and every day even during the tough times look for the small things to be grateful for. God hears our prayers and will never let us walk through this life alone.
Today we pray for Elizabeth and her family for God's healing presence to surround them. Give them comfort and peace during this difficult time.
Be present now to people who need your loving touch during Covid 19. May they feel your power of healing through the care of doctors and nurses.
Take away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from people receiving treatment or under quarantine. Protect their families and friends and bring peace to all who love them.
We ask all these prayers in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
