Advent is a very short season in our church year. Advent is a season filled with promise and hope. The birth of our Savior brings peace and light to a world living in darkness.
Advent promises a great reversal as well as the promise of all things being made new! The natural order of things will be overturned. The lion will lie down with the lamb. The desert will blossom and bloom. And there will be great joy!
During the season of Advent, we watch and wait. During this time, we are not
alone—God cares for each of us and walks with us. The journey is not ours to
walk alone, for God knows our joys and sorrows. May you feel God’s presence
surrounding you. May the hope, joy, peace, and love of the coming of Emmanuel
surround you. He is our hope, peace, joy and love today, and tomorrow and for-
evermore.
